INTENDED USE

BioSure® Sheath Solution is a buffered, azide-free support/carrier reagent for transporting particles through a flow cytometer. One 2.5 gallon container yields 9.6 L of reconstituted sheath solution. The product contains an antibacterial/antifungal preservative (not azide). The product is for in vitro diagnostic use only.

REAGENT COMPOSITION

(Upon reconstitution to 9.6 L)
Disodium EDTA 1.0 mM
Potassium Phosphate, Monobasic 1.9 mM
Potassium Chloride 3.8 mM
Sodium Phosphate, Dibasic 16.6 mM
Sodium Chloride 139.0 mM
Preservative, final concentration 15 ppm

STORAGE AND STABILITY

Store at 15° - 30° C (59° - 86° F). DO NOT FREEZE. Product is stable until the date noted on the product and package labels.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

As with all chemical solutions, avoid eye, skin and clothing contact with the concentrated or diluted reagent. No special precautions are recommended. See Material Safety Data Sheet for more detail. As an 8X concentrate, the solution is clear, colorless and particulate free. Evidence of turbidity, sediment, discoloration or bacterial/fungal contamination requires that the reagent be discarded.

INSTRUMENTATION

This reagent was designed for use on current laboratory flow cytometers requiring sheath solution.

DIRECTIONS FOR RECONSTITUTION AND USE

1. Remove tamper-proof band and cap.

2. Measure and add 8.4 liters of distilled or high purity water to the container (one part concentrate to seven parts water). An alternate method is to fill the container to the "Fill to here" line on the bottle handle label.

3. Apply the screw-on spigot supplied with each container. CAUTION: Be sure that the spigot is in the OFF position.

4. Mix the reagent by inverting the container two to three times.

5. Lift the gray vent tab on the container handle and pierce the bottle with a sharp object.Replace the vent tab. Reagent is ready for use.

6. When reagent bottle is empty, dispose of it responsibly by recycling.
