Procedures for BioSure Controls

BioSure® has made cytometer QC even easier and more effective, with simple procedures for BioSure® controls. Use the controls and the procedures to help you make adjustments quickly and easily, spot problems before they get serious, and check alignment, linearity, and sensitivity. All you need to do is invest a few minutes each day to perform the procedures. Whether your lab studies plant, animal, or human cells, it will earn big dividends, because you'll know how your flow cytometer is performing..

Alignment and Linearity

Everything you need to know about using BioSure® Chicken Erythrocyte Nuclei (CEN's) for cytometer alignment and linearity checks. It's so easy and effective, you'll want to make it a routine process in your lab! It's so economical, you can do this check daily, or whenever your instrument appears not to be performing. Get ready for optimized performance.

For more information, see our Alignment and Linearity procedure.

Sensitivity Assessment

This procedure is used to assess a flow cytometer's lower limit of fluorescence by using a Negative Control, chicken erythrocytes that have been fixed in osmium tetroxide (OsO4).

For more information, see our Sensitivity Assessment procedure.

Initial Standardization

This procedure is used to monitor the optical alignment and PMT stability of a flow cytometer by using chicken erythrocytes that have been fixed in gluteraldehyde.

For more information, see our Initial Standardization procedure.

Daily Montoring

Once target reference values for the CRBC's have been established, monitoring of the parameters is performed on a daily basis. Instrument settings for the target values are recalled and the new daily values compared to the target reference values. Recording of the new daily values onto Levey-Jennings plots provides a laboratory record of instrument stability over time.

For more information, see our Daily Montoring procedure.
