BioSure® PI Staining Solution (Modified) at a concentration of 50 micrograms/mL is a welcome addition to your human, animal and plant cellular DNA analysis efforts. There's nothing like it for convenience and value. It has the longest useful life of any PI product.

Maximum stability: BioSure® PI solution has a minimum of six month stability. Once mixed, BioSure® PI buffered solution (50 microgram/mL) remains stable for 90 days when stored in the amber bottle at refrigerator temperature (2° - 8° C).

Unique packaging system: Propidium Iodide stain is an intercalating dye that fluoresces red at 488 nm. It is used in flow cytometry to analyze cellular DNA content.

The PI stain solution is supplied in two bottles. Bottle A is the Propidium iodide dye; Bottle B is the buffer (PBS/IGEPAL CA-630). The mixed solution is stable at least 90 days when stored in the amber bottle at refrigerator temperatures (2° - 8° C)

Easy to prepare: Just mix the stain with the buffer, refrigerate, and add to BioSure® controls as needed.

INTENDED USE

Propidium Iodide stain is an intercalating dye that fluoresces red at 488 nm. It is used in flow cytometry to analyze DNA content of humans, animals, and plants.

The PI staining solution is supplied in two bottles. Bottle A is the Propidium Iodide dye; Bottle B is the buffer (PBS/IGEPAL CA-630). The mixed solution is stable for at least 90 days when stored in the amber bottle at refrigerator temperatures (2° - 8° C).

CAUTION: The dye is a mutagen and should be handled using proper laboratory safety procedures ­ gloves and eye protection.

PREPARATION

1. Remove 4.0 mL of PI Staining Buffer from Bottle B and add it to the PI Stain Bottle A. Replace the cap on Bottle A and gently invert the bottle several times.

2. Pour Bottle A mixture into Bottle B and mix. Rinse Bottle A with 4.0 mL of the mixture to remove any remaining dye and add it to Bottle B.

3. Overlabel Bottle B's label with the enclosed PI Staining Solution label. Store at 2° - 8° C. The staining solution is ready for use; add 1.0 mL stain to 0.050 - 0.100 mL of sample, vortex for five seconds, incubate at room temperature (22° - 25° C) for ten minutes protected from light, and analyze.
